The Family Indemnity Plan – Critical Illness Rider from CUNA Caribbean Insurance Society Limited, can provide an extra layer of financial protection against major unexpected medical and non-medical expenses when treating a life-threatening diagnosis such as Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke, Paralysis, Major Burns, Coronary Artery Bypass, Alzheimer’s Disease, Deafness, Loss of Speech, or Multiple Sclerosis. No medical examination is required to sign up.

Who do We cover?

The Critical Illness Rider is available to you – the primary applicant for the Family Indemnity Plan.

Your Benefits:

As the Owner of a Family Indemnity Plan, you may enjoy the following benefits and special features under the Critical Illness Rider:

You will receive a lump sum living Benefit, based on your selected Coverage, should you be diagnosed with any of the following covered Critical Illnesses: Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke, Paralysis, Major Burns, Coronary Artery Bypass, Alzheimer’s Disease, Deafness, Loss of Speech, or Multiple Sclerosis.

Benefit Options

Effective June 1, 2025

With the new Family Indemnity Plan: Critical Illness Rider, six coverage benefit levels are available for you to choose from: $50,000 and $600,000. The benefit options are:

  • $50,000
  • $100,000
  • $150,000
  • $300,000
  • $450,000
  • $600,000

 

How does the Critical Illness Rider work?

  • Your premium is determined by the age you have attained when you sign up for the Rider and the selected coverage option.*
  • You may apply for the Rider once you have not reached age sixty (60).
  • You will have a Waiting Period after your application before you are able to receive a Benefit from the Rider, unless you become diagnosed with the covered Critical Illness as a direct result of an Accident during the Waiting Period.
  • You are entitled to receive only one lump sum payment for the life of the Rider on the diagnosis of a specified Critical Illness condition.
  • Your family will receive a refund of your Critical Illness Rider Premium payments should you pass away without making a Critical Illness claim and the Critical Illness Rider is still in effect.

Coverage Under The Critical Illness Rider Will Discontinue:

  • If you choose to terminate coverage.
  • If you do not pay your  Family Indemnity Plan-Critical Illness Rider premium during the grace period provided.
  • When you have reached the age of 75.
  • After you have received payment from a Critical Illness Rider claim.*
  • Once you have passed on

 

Filing A Claim:

  • You must complete a Claim Form as proof of diagnosis for the Critical Illness Rider benefit. We may ask for additional proof in order to determine benefits.
